Recently retired after 37 years at J&J, John’s diverse experiences during his remarkable tenure at J&J include key roles in Finance, Marketing, Strategic Account Management, and Corporate Strategy.
For the past 20+ years, he has been shepherding JJHCS’s Health Policy & Advocacy team towards fulfilling a mission to create a future world where disease is a thing of the past.
John and his team have effectively shaped policies supporting patients’ continued access to life-saving therapies. Motivated by a passion for patients, John’s HPA team delivered numerous wins, of which a few noteworthy accomplishments are:
Driving the creation of a complex infusion code to ensure appropriate reimbursement for providers of Part B drugs.
Helping to enact state legislation prohibiting non-medical switching and copay accumulator/maximizer programs.
Leading his HPA team to recognition as the #1 policy/advocacy team in the US pharmaceutical industry for 9 straight years by the Brooks Group ADVOCATE survey.
John also played a key leadership role in establishing Janssen’s commitment to and focused energy toward ensuring that addressing health disparities became ingrained in all Janssen’s business processes.
John also was a critical partner in establishing Janssen’s strategic response to the Inflation Reduction Act.
